Provenance:Reproduction of an engraving by P.M. Camareri that was hand-colored for the publication of La Natura e Coltura di Fiori Fisicamente Esposta (The Nature and Cultivation of Flowers Physically Displayed), a stunning horticulture catalogue by Filippo Arena in Palermo, Sicily, in the year 1767-8. Arena created extraordinary colour and floral arrangements for a horticultural catalogue. Arena imitated earlier botanists like DeBry, Sweertius, and Besler who had given flowers and other plants a dramatic textural aspect in the 17th century.
