Description:
The pistol with a large spherical pommel, its barrel, and its frame of spinning wheels are damascened in gold on water-colored steel. The cornure of this beautiful weapon is all wrought with ivory tauchic engraved on the surface & representing mascarons, vines & veneric animals. We give to the center of our board a key or turnstile of wheels, in D finely chiseled steel. E. DE B. (1) There was, around 1590 & 1603, in France, at Blamont (Meurthe), an important firearms factory whose arquebuses & especially pistols seem to have been highly esteemed.
