PLATE LIX. PALMA, MAJORCA. Iron Escutcheons and Door Handles from old Houses
Not many towns retain so many of the original door handles and key plates on their old houses as Palma, where it is quite common to find them fixed on red velvet. As a general rule the more pretentious the palace the larger the door handles, which at the same time are utilised as knockers.
