The Cathedral. Iron Screen to the Baptismal Chapel
Of the few screens which retain their original colouring this is a good example. It was probably erected by Cardinal Fonseca, whose shield is placed in the centre of the floral wreath, supported by winged cherubs. Underneath is a decorated wrought iron panel, representing the Baptism of our Lord.
The Chapel is situated on the north side of the nave and contains the bronze font of the Cathedral.
